Abolish private car ownership
Apart from very exceptional reasons such as a few disabilities, nobody really needs their own car. Without a car, people will default to active, low-carbon travel for local journeys, public transport for longer distances and electric taxis/pool cars for awkward or multi-person journeys.
Why the contribution is important
Cars have destroyed society and the planet. Without them, community cohesion, physical health, RTAs, air quality, streetscapes and overall wellbeing will all improve.
The 'convenience' of car ownership is not worth the societal and public health damage they cause.
